Some liners impose reefer surcharges into China ports

ONE, CMA CGM and its APL unit have put surcharges on reefer containers going to Shanghai, Xingang and Ningbo. Other carriers have also warned of disruptions to box routings and discharge schedules

ONE also encouraged customers to consider a change of destination to alternative ports, especially for time-sensitive cargoes

ONE is among several carriers that have imposed charges on reefers going into some Chinese ports.

CONTAINER line ONE has imposed a $1,000 per container congestion surcharge on reefer boxes going into Shanghai and Xingang in Tianjin effective immediately.

It has previously been reported that a shortage of truck drivers had caused difficulties in handling reefer containers.
