Reefer Shipping Survives With Speed, Service

According to the World Bank, global population is expected to grow from 7.4 billion from the end of 2015 to 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100. Developing countries, which will absorb a substantial share of that growth, will see their populations grow by a compound annual rate of 6 percent bringing increased wealth and consumer spending.

A report from Drewry Shipping Consultants points out that, “unavoidably, an increasing part of this income will be spent on more and more luxury food, such as prepared from perishables, inducing a trend towards smaller shipments.”
