Maersk boosts buys from German owners to $100m
Deal nets investors a 20% return on Reederei Nord’s first 2,500-teu newbuilding
Maersk Line has snapped up seven 2,500-teu boxships, including a newbuilding from German owners Bernhard Schulte and Reederei Nord, in deals worth close to $100m.
Schulte has now sold six sub-panamax ships to Maersk for over $60m, while Nord has parted ways with a 2,500-teu newbuilding in the works in China in a $36.5m deal that nets investors a tasty return.
